Many nonprofits struggle to recruit strong board members to champion their causes. Youth, I.N.C. helps build highly effective boards, while teaching nonprofits to leverage connections, resources, and networks.
Board Management and Development is a twelve-month program offering intensive, personalized board development expertise to select nonprofits that have participated in at least one year of the Celebration program. These organizations receive assistance and guidance from our experts, mentors, and networks in establishing better, stronger, and more diverse boards.
Youth, I.N.C.:
- Coaches executive directors
- Assesses organizational needs
- Offers strategic planning
- Provides workshops in board management, recruitment, and retention
- Analyzes and revises board structure and composition
- Recruits new board members
These vital services equip and enable nonprofits to become effective governing and fundraising organizations. All Board Management and Development workshops, trainings, and sessions are provided at no cost to the organizations, and Youth, I.N.C’s team provides mentorship every step of the way.
During the yearlong program, Youth, I.N.C. matches a corporate executive or two with each nonprofit through a careful selection process. Each new board member receives training before joining their new organization. Board members participate in seminars that focus on topics such as best practices in nonprofit leadership, board governance, and effective fundraising.
Who can become a board member? Board members are leaders within their communities and are often professionals interested in helping to “make a difference.” Each Board member brings a unique background and skill set to the nonprofit and helps them become a stronger, more effective organization.
If you think you may be a good candidate to serve on the board of a nonprofit, please contact Youth, I.N.C. to learn more about how you can become involved.
