Carl’s Journey

When Carl joined CAW at age 14, he had no hands-on work experience and didn’t have confidence in his creative abilities. After being accepted into CAW’s summer youth employment program, he helped develop a public mural with the support of CAW’s staff and professional artists, boosting his confidence and leadership potential. Carl’s successful mural efforts and life story were featured in the documentary Magic With Logic, which inspired Carl to pursue a degree in Public Relations. He still works at CAW’s workshops to help out young children, and now currently serves as a youth advisor and summer program assistant for CAW. Now enrolled at Westchester Community College, Carl hopes to one day earn a Master’s Degree in communications.
