On March 16, the Net Gain Tournament returned for its 12th year, bringing together over 250 players and spectators for an exciting night of round-robin basketball competition at NYU's Coles Sports Center. The event raised nearly $350,000 for Youth, I.N.C. and the Net Gain Program, which supports 16 schools and over 400 student participants. Thanks to our generous supporters, these high school athletes can continue to play the game they love.
The tournament kicked off with the 3rd Annual Hedge Fund vs. Private Equity All-Star Game, and the Hedge Fund team claimed their first victory, with a final score of 27-11.
During half-time, students from each of the participating high schools competed in the half-court shot competition, which was won by Elijah from Leadership and Public Service High School. Funds donated by the Youth, I.N.C. Board of Directors will be split among the 16 high schools to purchase equipment and uniforms.
The teams consisting of students from 16 high schools and professionals from 15 corporate sponsors competed in four hours of round-robin play, and were coached by New York Knicks legends Walt "Clyde" Frazier, Earl the Pearl Monroe, Kenny Walker, John Starks, Greg Anthony, and Buck Williams.
After an intense championship game, the Morgan Stanley and Manhattan Village Academy High School team won the 2010 Net Gain Tournament title!
