Associate
Annabelle first joined Youth, I.N.C. in the fall of 2010 supporting the program team. She is a problem solver and resourceful designer. When forced by Hurricane Katrina to abandon Tulane, she pursued her studies at Princeton and the American University in Paris, before returning for a joint degree in Art History and Sociology from Sophie Newcomb and Tulane University. Working first in Boston she has been a children's educator at the Museum of Fine Arts, a riverboat director on the Charles, and manager of the office and art collection of a Cambridge architect. She volunteered for the Obama campaign in three states, serving as a youth and college liaison in Henderson, Nevada. She was invited to New York to design and manage a fundraising gala to honor women explorers for Wings World Quest. While representing NY artists to corporate clients, she helped an artist paint giant dancing figures in the stairwells of a Madison Avenue Hotel. She made a lateral move from art to youth at New Leaders for New Schools where she learned how hard nonprofits struggle to survive. For relief from office work, Annabelle led scavenger hunts and one-of-a-kind birthday celebrations for youth at the American Museum of Natural History and the Central Park Zoo. In between these assignments, she has volunteered for many years with Earthwatch Institute, both on expeditions and planning events to support the work of scientists. She has served as a volunteer host at the Environmental Film Festival in Washington, DC and continues to be interested in documentary film that celebrates youth and the arts. She is a member of the New York Times Film Club. Annabelle loves the mission and productivity of Youth, I.N.C. She enjoys the company of creative people, builders, and doers, especially when they are helping children, artists, and animals.
