Mai Shiver serves as Chief Compliance Officer of Global Investments for AIG. Assuming the role in 2014, Ms. Shiver is based in New York and oversees the firm’s compliance and global regulatory matters in the US, UK, and Japan.
Prior to joining AIG Investments, Ms. Shiver served as the Global Chief Compliance Officer of Wells Capital Management in San Francisco and led regulatory functions while supporting the growth of the firm to $450B of institutional assets under management. In prior roles, Ms. Shiver has served as the Managing Director and Regulatory Policy Attorney for the Pacific and Archipelago Exchanges and as litigation counsel for regulated practices for the law firm now called DLA.
Ms. Shiver has served on the boards of several non-profit organizations including the University of California, Hastings Law School Board of Trustees, the International Diplomacy Council, the San Francisco Opera Board, the Voss Foundation and the Financial Women’s Association of San Francisco.
Raised in a Georgia, Ms. Shiver holds a Bachelor of Science, Genetics from the University of Georgia and an earned a JD degree from University of California, Hastings Law School
