Harry J. Wilson
Harry Wilson is the founder and CEO of the MAEVA Group, LLC, a turnaround merchant bank focused on investing in or advising businesses that are underperforming their potential or undergoing strategic transitions.
Prior to founding the MAEVA Group, Harry spent nearly two years in two public service pursuits: in 2009, he served as a Senior Advisor in the US Treasury Department and a senior member of the team that oversaw the restructurings of General Motors and Chrysler. In 2010, he was the Republican nominee for NY State Comptroller and nearly beat the incumbent, delivering the best Republican statewide challenger showing in New York in the past 20 years.
Prior to his time in public service, Harry was a partner at Silver Point Capital, a credit-oriented investment firm he joined in 2003. Harry joined Silver Point from The Blackstone Group, where he was a principal in the private equity business.
Earlier in his career, Harry worked in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co. and at the private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice.
Mr. Wilson also currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Sotheby’s and Visteon Corporation.
In addition to his professional work, Mr. Wilson has been involved in a variety of charitable organizations, primarily focused on education, opportunity and youth issues. He is active in public policy issues, having served as a Presidential appointee to the Advisory Board of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation and also as a member of a bipartisan task force in Rhode Island that helped created the most significant public pension overhaul in the country. He is also active in his community, serving on two local boards supporting youth sports and coaching a number of basketball and soccer teams.
Mr. Wilson graduated with honors from Harvard College, where he was elected a Class Marshal and majored in government, and received an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School. He and his wife, Eva Romas Wilson, have four daughters and reside in Scarsdale, NY.
